Flora London Marathon Places - April 2009

UKnetrunner has received 3 places for the 2009 Flora London Marathon.

In the club draw - 2 entrants - Jayne Chappell and Matt Dunn - were both picked out to land themselves club places in the London Marathon next year.

As Jayne and Matt were the ONLY ENTRANTS in the draw, the club still has 1 place left.

In this unprecedented position, the club draw will re-open to ALL MEMBERS WHO ENTERED THE FLM OFFICIAL DRAW AND WERE REJECTED (regardless of the date of joining the club)

This draw will close on 21st November and all members will be mailed directly by Brigitte Groves (Vice Chair) with further details of how to enter the extended draw.

Congratulations to Matt & Jayne!

Ridgeway Relay - 15th June 2008

It's happened - UKnetrunner versus the Ridgeway Relay - and we had a great time. 33rd out of 39 - but then lots of other teams cheated by having 1 runner for each stage (and by being fitter and stronger than us).

A more detailed report to follow, but for now...

Race reports in the forum

Slideshow - stages 1-5

Slideshow - stages 6-10

And finally, big big big thanks to Heavyweight (David Kindred) and his long-suffering other half for all the work they did organising the event for us.

Ridgeway Relay - 15th June 2008

Places are still available in the UKnetrunner team in the Ridgeway Relay on 15th June 2008.

The event is a 85 mile relay, made up of 10 runners runing different length stages from Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire to Overton Hill near Marlborough.

The Ridgeway Relay is a team relay, organised by Marlborough Running Club. It is run over ten legs, the legs varying in length from 5.3 miles to 11.6 miles - all teams must include at least 8 male, 2 female, or vice versa. The route is scenic, hilly and off-road. (Further details at the website: Ridgeway Relay Website

Currently we have a team of 6 - 4 more would be ideal to make up a full team, and avoiding the need for any runner to run multiple stages.

Please contact: me at alanlacey@uknetrunner.co.uk or phone 07920 547871 and I will pass your details on to the UKnetrunner organiser of the event, David Kindred, who will contact you to make further arrangements.

A UKnetruner forum thread is currently actively discussing this event at: Ridgeway Relay Forum Discussion
